“Fruit Slots” is the archetype of what one, at least one who has never seen the seizure-inducing likes of today’s casinos, would expect from a typical slot machine. The set up in this virtual adaptation is very conventional, very classic, and relatively underwhelming for those familiar with post-modern evolutions of the original, analogical gear-crank design.
Not to be confused with the similarly-titled game with fruit-laden tiles that resemble illustrations from Highlights Magazine and offer 15 paylines, this classically-oriented game from Cryptologic offers a mere 1 payline, the same number of bells and whistles (or at least bells), and derives its fruity title from the simple fact that pieces of fruit (i.e. the familiar cherry) alternate with the bars and 7’s. The payouts range from 250 to 2,500 coins, the latter jackpot only more likely if played profusely with the maximum bet possible (3 coins) every time.
Good news is that this game can’t be rigged by way of filling the notches of the highest payouts with welded metal disks, but probability is never in the user’s favor for this kind of game (which relies on the trustworthiness of digital odds and electronic “randomness”) and is just never derived from manual tampering, only electronic.
For those geriatric gamblers just wanting to reminisce and feel nostalgia for Old Vegas as they remember it, this game is unequivocally for them (almost exclusively in fact).
